  Corporate history
 
 1854   Oomura-ya is established in Omigawa with a financial backing from the Hizen Oomura Clan.
 1864   Iida Sajibe Shoten is established at the current location in Asahi.
 1902   Sajibe Iida, the 5th proprieter of Iida Honten, becomes the first Japanese to attempt to manufacture soy sauce overseas by building a factory in Hawaii.
 1933   Iida Honten is established.
 1939   Rikizou Yamamoto builds and operates a factory where soy sauce and miso are manufactured until the end of World War II in what is now the People's Republic of China.
 1952   Oomura-ya is established.
 1964   Oomura-ya and Iida Honten consolidate to form Chiba Shoyu with capital of 20 million yen.
 1971   New factory constructed on the 36,360 m2 site at Omigawa Industrial Park.
 1975   Wastewater treatment facility built to deal with environmental concerns.
 1983   Capital increases to 30 million yen.
 1985   Capital increases to 40 million yen.
 1989   Mail order sales of pickled vegetables initiated.
 1991   New seasoning sauces factory constructed to handle increased specialization.
 1992   Research facility constructed to enhance product development and quality assurance.
 1995   Capital increases to 50 million yen.
 2001   The 5th Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Ministry Prize awarded at the National Soy Sauce Fair.
 2002   Main factory and Asahi factory receive certification for organic soy sauce production.
 2003   Asahi factory receives JAS certification for pickled vegetable production.
 2004   Main factory receives HACCP certification for soup stock production.
